Cherry blossom inspires Guerlain’s

Spring 2010 make-up range

December 10, 2009

Guerlain’s new spring colour cosmetics collection is inspired by the colours and textures of cherry blossom, which heralds the end of winter and the beginning of spring in many Asian countries.

Core to the collection is a new eye shadow quad and blush compact featuring radiant hues of peach and pink for the blush and pink, white, violet and mauve for the eye shadow. Both products feature an oriental fan pattern to emphasise the eastern theme.

Also launching are two new lip products. Guerlain has extended its Rouge G lipstick line to include Le Brilliant, a creamy lip colour that offers a light, shiny finish to lips. The formula contains ruby powder for a dense colour, along with hyaluronic microspheres and gugul resin to smooth lips and fill out wrinkles. Finally vitamin A palmitate and tiger grass help boost collagen and stimulate epidermal cell growth, while wild mango butter adds moisture. Le Brilliant is available in ten shades and four colour families.

And new to the KissKiss franchise is KissKiss Strass, a shimmering lip colour containing crystal beads, transparent mother of pearl and coloured mother of pearl, which is said to create an intense multidimensional reflection on lips. The product is available in ten shades, divided into three colour families – red gold, yellow gold and pink gold.

Bond No 9 brings Arabian nights to

New York streets

December 3, 2009

The worlds of New York and Arabia meet with Bond No 9’s latest perfume.

The fragrance combines ancient Eastern oud with modern Western ingredients to create a mingling of Dubai and New York at Bond No 9’s NoHo address.

Compared to its normal fragrance, which is 20% concentration, Bond No 9’s latest incarnation kicks it up to 30%, qualifying it as a pure perfume.

The notes infuse an earthy, sultry oud with rose, tonka beans from South America and Asian musk deer.

The juice is contained in a bottle that is made from non-stop gold, etched with Bond No 9’s logo.

The bottle is transparent to show off the crystal clear perfume, meant to emulate a magic potion.

Retailing at $330 for 3.4 oz, the perfume is sold exclusively at Bond No 9’s four New York stores and Saks Fifth Avenue nationwide.
